New natural smile

Why dental implants with All-on-4?

For most, dental implants are the best solution to replace missing teeth. Patients who lack sufficient bone volume may have been advised not to perform implants, or have been told that they must undergo time-consuming bone removal procedures to be able to place the dental implants.

With the All-on-4 technique, everyone can get beautiful new teeth in a single visit, even though they have been told that they are not a candidate for dental implants or lack enough bone for implants.

What are All-on-4 dental implants?

All-on-4 + is a total Oral Rehabilitation. From being toothless or losing all of their teeth, you can regain firm natural teeth in one visit.

All-on-4 + is a revolutionary method developed over two decades by dentist Paulo Malo, enabling total oral rehabilitation of most patients with placement of 4 – 6 titanium implants in each jaw. The implants serve as a foundation for a temporary acrylic bridge, which allows the placement of a fixed set of teeth, which looks like natural teeth. This technique stabilizes the bone and utilizes the bone found in the jaw. By angling the two posterior implants 45 degrees, even those patients with almost no bone substance can have solid teeth without the need for a transplant or sinus lift. The result is a solid (unresolved) natural tooth set, indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Advantages of the All-on-4 dental implant technique:

  • Success rate higher than traditional implant techniques – 98%
  • Less need for bone grafting, which is expensive and can be uncomfortable for the patient
  • The procedure is well tolerated and of short duration – usually takes about 1 to 2 hours for complete oral rehabilitation
  • Can usually be performed in patients with diabetes, osteoporosis or other health conditions that often provide contraindications for bone grafting
  • Natural looking teeth that feel like and work as your natural tooth set
  • Very hygienic – easy to maintain and clean
  • Cost savings – often a less expensive method than traditional techniques
  • Most things are done in a single day – not just the surgery, but also the placement of fixed teeth with immediate function. Traditional techniques often involve multiple operations and can take over six months to complete

What can you expect?

Installing a dental implant is a quick and little invasive procedure. At Christiania tannlegesenter, a specialist will do a thorough initial evaluation, then set up the best treatment plan for your condition. The first evaluation consists of a comprehensive clinical and radiological examination. With the help of panorama and 3D X-ray via a specific computer program we can get a 3 dimensional image of the jaw. “Virtual implants” are then placed in the 3D image to ensure accuracy at the time of surgery. To facilitate the procedure and ensure quality, a fixed bridge is pre-manufactured in advance of the operation.

While you wait for the permanent prosthesis, which is manufactured at our laboratory – located at the dental clinic, you relax in our rest room. On the same day, you will leave the clinic with new fixed teeth, and you will be able to eat, talk and smile with confidence. The temporary bridge is replaced by a permanent bridge after the implants are osseointegrated, ie, germinated in the jaw. It takes from 2-4 months after the day of surgery.
